About This Project
HELM Studio partnered with the Interstate Migration Alliance (IMA) to develop a digital portal to facilitate collaboration, cross-learning, and information sharing between Migrant Rights Centers (MRCs), grassroots organizations and migrant workers. The IMA portal provides multi-lingual (Hindi, English) and easy to read information on enrollment in government schemes, access to the Mazdoorak Ke Haq (Workers Rights) digital training tools, and the Lockstitch Lives interactive documentary, creating an accessible resource to inform just migration policies and practices.
Mazdooran Ke Haq [Workers Rights] ICT Training Tools are animated training modules designed for basic tablets that can be used by IMA partner organizations within Migrant Rights Centers (MRCs) to provide engaging, interactive training on workers rights. The tools enncourage invest in the leadership of migrant workers, with a particular emphasis on women workers. Content- modules include training on the Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act, freedom of association, global supply chains, occupational health and safety, wages and hours and rights and entitlements for factory workers.
This initial suite of tools will be expanded in 2018 to include the following modules:
- Rights at work for domestic workers
- Rights at work for construction workers
- Rights under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005
- Right to food under the National Food Security Act, 2013
- Migration-related violence
- Gender-based violence in the workplace module
- Violence in the family and community.
